An Expressive Arts & Somatic Experiencing Workshop for Service Providers to build bridges in times of turmoil.

An experiential workshop to explore ways to reconnect with our inner resources and identify strategies to build both internal and external islands of safety and support in our professional and personal lives.

Facilitated by Dafne Sarlay-Blanco

Supporting people in their healing process is my true calling. A true calling is a career or walk of life that a person feels compelled or meant to do, and I do thrive in using my life experience, education and training to contribute to the healing and transformation of others.

I am a Mexican-Canadian human impacted by various types of trauma. I am the child of African-Mexicans descendent of slaves, and Eastern European Jews, whose families perished during the Holocaust. My personal history inform my deep understanding of the interconnections of gender, ethnicity, violence, trauma and mental health, and impact how I support others in their healing.

The main three psychotherapeutic modalities I use in my practice are: Expressive Arts Therapy (EXAT), Somatic Experiencing® (SE) and Attachment Theory. In integrating these methods, my clients experience our work as a powerful, yet gentle process in which they find it easier to engage in deep explorations.

An important portion of my clinical practice is working with childhood developmental trauma, attachment and transgenerational trauma.

I have been privileged to work and live in First Nations communities in Canada and Mexico. These experiences gifted me with witnessing the resilience and wisdom of those communities who have survived transgenerational and intergenerational trauma.

In my practice I strive to create a safe, non-judgemental environment where we can integrate the deep wisdom of the body, spirit and mind, in a culturally appropriate way.
